April 20 @ 8:00 pm - 12:00 am EST
Everland Studios presents an evening of chill-hop, reggae house, and conscious folk-rock, as we welcome the release of Metro Rock Opera’s newest EP, “Influence Got us Here.”
Asheville, NC-based Producer Michael Kotzen showcases his musical influences through Metro Rock Opera. Having grown up listening to a wide variety of musical genres and playing guitar for over 16 years, Michael started Metro Rock Opera as an outlet to produce music that makes people dance, feel positive, and spread good vibes. With a deep appreciation for dance, reggae, disco, and funk music, combined with endless hours of crate digging and b-side listening, Metro Rock Opera DJ sets and live band shows provide big sounds and fun grooves. Live sets include original music and covers focusing around the tropical theme. Metro Rock Opera gets the crowd smiling and moving, while transporting them to a dance party.
The new EP, “Influence Got Us Here” Features vocals from Debrissa McKinney of Empire Strikes Brass and Jesse Vann, and percussion fromKevin Offitzer of Stick Figure. This is a carefully crafted collection of tunes delivering deep grooves. Intent on creating positively charged music that moves the soul, his blend of reggae, hip-hop and tropical funk does exactly that. Catch him performing this May at Kinnection Campout 2018 festival in Tennessee, and through various Asheville venues this summer.
