Indivisible AVL: Whose House? OUR HOUSE!
January 3 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm EST
It’s a New Year and a new Congress! Join us to celebrate our wins and kick off renewed pro-democracy work in the new year ahead. Special guests include NC Senator and candidate for Lt. Governor Terry Van Duyn, and Henderson County activist and former NC House candidate Gayle Kemp.
We’re joining a nationwide Day of Action on Jan 3, the first day of the new Congress, to focus on H.R.1, the big democracy reform package the new House is working on. Along with other NC groups, we’re focusing on the VOTER EMPOWERMENT & ACCESS parts of H.R.1 – reforms our country badly needs, especially here in NC.
How? We’re sending NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS to Patrick McHenry (District 10) and Mark Meadows (District 11), asking them to support this important legislation. Join us, and make a difference in 2019!
> THURS JAN 3 – New Years Resolution signing at The Block off Biltmore, 5:30-7:00. Pre-addressed Resolution Request Letters will be ready for you to sign.
> FRI JAN 4 – Delivery of all the signed Resolutions to each representative’s’ district office (McHenry’s in Black Mountain and Meadows’s in Hendersonville). Come show your support with a positive-focused rally outside! “Whose House? Our House! ” signs provided.
