Jazz-n-Justice Swing Dance Benefit 4 Week Blues Series!

February 6 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm EST

Come join Charlie Myers and Hannah Clark every Tuesday in February for an introduction lesson series to blues dance. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged! Beginners can take their skills from zero to competency, and more experienced folks can hone their skills.

Blues dance is a collection of individual dances that developed across the country in the early 20th century. Danced alongside a wide variety of blues music, blues dance is strongly connected to the Black American experience.

Over the course of four lessons, we will be covering blues frame and aesthetic, a variety of basic steps, pulses and turns, body isolations, and techniques for playing and improvising with your partner. Throughout these lessons, we’ll also be including information on blues history and culture.

Price: $10 General Public / $8 Swing Asheville Members
Social Swing Dance with Live Band: 9-11/ $5
Dj’d Blues Set: 11-12
Limited volunteer opportunities available!
