LEARN TO SWING! Live Swing Music & Dance Lessons Every Tues. Night
February 28 @ 7:00 pm EST$10
Learn the basics of swing dancing with Swing Asheville instructors!
Featuring The House Hoppers!
Trumpeter, bandleader & vocalist Mick Glasgow [Low Down Sires] and friends bring rootsy good-time swingin’ jazz & early 20th century vintage pop classics back around.
7 PM: Intermediate Class
8 PM: Beginner Class
9 PM-11 PM: The House Hoppers
11 PM: Vintage Blues to keep the music and the dance moves flowing
Classes will be held every Tuesday in January and February at The BLOCK off biltmore. Each class costs $10, or $8 if you are a Swing Asheville member. After each class will be a social swing dance from 9-11pm, followed by a jazz jam from 11pm-late. The swing dance costs $5 and the late night blues dance costs $2.
In this four-week beginner series, you’ll meet new people and learn the basic 6-count Lindy Hop footwork, turns and a flashy move to impress others on the dance floor. You’ll learn not only how to dance, but how to ask others to dance and the history of Lindy Hop.
No experience or partner is needed. Because each class will build on the next one, students are encouraged to attend every class in the series.
